I resolved this. It does help to do this all in one day so you don't forget to run through all the steps in the upgrade.
Also, I used the post "Proper Upgrade Route - Within UBB.Threads 7.x" post 178758 and not the one mentioned above. Everything worked the way it was supposed to.
