We've got a user who for one reason or another wishes to change the registration email address associated with his account. I notice that this field isn't editable in the control panel. Is this possible to do at all? With a SQL query perhaps?

Re register under new name and new email address.
Merge users.
I think that's how i have done it in the past. its been a while. But its not as scary as sql.
Try a test run on 2 accounts keeping an eye on what account keeps what. (Email Addresses).
