Yes the ubb cp works for table backups and will be slow.
In fact it is still running but you really should use the cpanel for database backups.
Due to if you need to restore a table or database the ubb method will make you restore one table at a time which is like 64 tables and you still need to use cpanel.
Where cpanel can let you backup the whole database and restore the whole database with one step.
Till your database gets very large.
