It was announced nearly a year ago. The day has finally come that Microsoft will no longer support Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10.
Support for older versions of Internet Explorer ends on January 12, 2016
Microsoft points out that version 11 will continue receiving security updates, compatibility fixes, and technical support on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. For now.

End of support for Windows 8 and IE means there will be no more security patches or technical support. IE 11 will, however, continue to be supported, and Microsoft recommends first upgrading to IE 11 before removing IE 8, 9, or 10.
Windows 8.1, which came out more than two years ago, will continue to be supported until January 10, 2023.

Windows 8.1 is considered a service pack and was first released October 18, 2013. The update to Windows 8.1 is still free and will continue to be supported until January 10, 2023.
Support for Windows 7 RTM without service packs ended on April 9, 2013. It is only Windows 7 SP1 that is still supported today.
Windows ME only lasted a year before it was replaced by XP.

The largest market share of any personal computer O/S is Windows 7. It’s at 55.68% as of Dec 2015 which means more computers run Windows 7 than any other Windows, Mac, or Linux COMBINED. Oh, and the next most common O/S version? Windows XP.
Microsoft may not support it any more, but if you haven’t upgraded yet, you’re not alone.
