Is your style using the correct image set?
Default: [Linked Image]
Default-Dark: [Linked Image]
UBB: [Linked Image]

All of these shipped with the install archive, and should have been uploaded to your forums as a part of the upgrade. If you would like to check or change which image set that your style uses you would do so as:
CP -> Display Settings -> Styles -> [Your Style Name] -> General Images -> [Select Image Type] -> Update or Add Style (Button at the Bottom)
