Before adding the "Header Set" code to HTACCESS, I decided to simulate the effect by doing a force-refresh with my browser. At first glance it made no difference, and possibly worse. In my random sample of one, doing a Ctrl-Refresh in Chrome caused the Unread flags for the threads to disappear without first reading them. I'm going to experiment more tomorrow as new posts appear.
