Uhm, have you tried searching using the User Permissions cpanel? Or is it giving you problems...?
------------------ Charles Capps, Moderator, Post-Install Troubleshooting PLEASE NOTE: Due to time limitations, I do not provide UBB support via email.
No the permissions option is working fine, and I use it. Sorry, what I meant was to search for duplicate emails without knowing the email address. i.e. show all emails which have two or mor entries in the memberlist...ahh this gives me a thought, I think I've just found a way.
So how were you able to find any duplicate email addresses? Not through any CP options, I'm assuming...something at the command line? Please share...we'd like to do some house cleaning as well...
Why couldn't you run the mass email component of UBB and check the box that says generate an email list as opposed to actually emailing the users.
Then copy the list over to Excel and sort it by email addresses. Then make some forumulas or macros to compare the email addresses and mark the duplicates.
------------------ Doug Moderator: Cool UBB Examples I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further.
Because it does not keep the Member number, i.e., the cgi file number in the Members area, so I don't know which one to keep or which cgi number to delete, i.e., I don't know which one the UBB is using if a user has made any posts...
Maybe make a perl program to read al lthe entries in the emailfile.cgi file and put it on a page, if you click on a particular one it can scan for duplicates and dislay all the account data in a different page from that scan.
Would be like a pre select and a refined select to see fo there is exact match or domain match by splitting the user and domain parts of the email.
Was thinking of if I get time making one for my UBB but dont have to much time lately. Dont thing it would be a complicated program to make and youcould tie it into the UBB user name and passcode for login as not to allow unauthorized access to the accunt data.
