UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.classic UBB.classic 5 Support Internal Server Error on Linux

i'm trying to make my own forum, and somehow it doesn't work. I did just like it installation instruction says. Or almost: i did extract files on my other computer which has NT4 and copy files on floppy and from floppy to /var/www etc. and chmodded just like instructions is shown.
But when accessing General settings or anyother links on controlpanel i get just message Internal Server Error.
What i did wrong?

Did you ensure that your perl path is correct?

Yes it's in /usr/bin/perl .
my linux machine has directories like this:

/var/www/cgi-bin
/var/www/html/ubb
/var/www/html/Members
/var/www/perl

I have mandrake 7.2 linux distr.
I'm newbie in configuring apache, but it looks like that I can't use cgi-bin programs, I have chmodded cgi-bin directory and others too.
