UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.classic UBB.classic 5 Support (some) Users suddenly getting "404" errors

My InfoPop v. 5.44a software seems to be causing some members to get 404 errors, but not all of them. The ones that get the error report that it is delivered immediately upon clicking any of the front-page (static) links to any of the dynamically-created forum pages.

After checking some other threads here, I checked for 0-sized files. There are two; index.html and categories.file, if that's any help. Those two are in my forum's root directory.

There are NO 0-sized files in the CGI-BIN directory.

My home page is www.trackforum.com

The various forums are listed on http://it.theschneidercorp.com/cgi-bin/t...passCookie=true

Some members get the error, it seems justy as many do not. We seem to have ruled out differences due to connection speed or geographic location. Forum has been running for 10 months without the problem.

Another clue- if I post links on another, properly functioning UBB to the threads on my "afflicted" UBB, the users who are unable to access my UBB directly are able to read (but not edit or reply to) the threads on my UBB.

Two notes - one, the URL you provided is dead. Please post the proper URL. Second, you should NOT link to &BypassCookie=true - this prevents new post notification. Thnaks for the advice, Charles. Actually, the problem ended up being a failed DNS server (or at least, a failed DNS transaction), which is why that link looked dead.
