Ensure that all files except images have been uploaded in ascii, permissions are set correctly, and that the correct path to perl 5 is specified in the .cgi files.

Also please note that you do not need to keep starting new posts for your UBB installation problems. You can simply reply to your current post rather than starting a new one each time.

Which paths are you referring to? The perl path is on the first line in the .cgi files. If the current one is not pointing to perl 5 on your server, it will need to be changed to point to it.

okay, let's start right there, the first line of my .cgi files is this located in an actual file that i can upload or do i have to reconfigure a file that you guys have sent me?

my permissions have been checked and rechecked can you tell me as elementary as possible where i can find my .cgi files or more directly how do i actually apply the first line to my cgi files

The .cgi files are in the zip file. To edit the perl path, you need to open the .cgi files in a text editor such as notepad. The perl path is on the first line and should point to perl 5 on your server. If the current one does not, it will need to be edited it to point to it.

According to your hosts FAQ's, the path to perl 5 is /usr/local/bin/perl . Recheck and make sure the first line in the cgi scripts reads #!/usr/local/bin/perl

Also which FTP client are you using to upload? If CuteFTP, switch to WS_FTP, as many people have been having problems using CuteFTP for ascii upload.

You can download WS_FTP here.

You may only need to reupload the 4 variable files as those are usually the files CuteFTP has problems uploading in ascii. If after reuploading the 4 variable files in ascii, the problem isn't fixed, you will need to reupload all the cgi files.

Do not put single quote marks around the perl path. If you'd like you can email me your FTP information and I will see if I can find the problem.

As suspected, the problem was with the ascii upload. I reuploaded the appropriate files in ascii and it works fine now. I have also set your absolute paths for you. Default username and password are - Admin5/4tugboat
