Ever since I've upgraded to 6.5.0 some people have been reporting that they're not get email PM notifications, or even passwords sent to them. It works for me, so it's hard to figure out what's going on.

I just sent my own password to myself, and found it odd that the email contained this:

Has anyone else noticed these issues since upgrading to 6.5.0?

What version were you using before the upgrade. If it was <6.2.1, did you overwrite vars_wordlets_email, as is outlined in the upgrade instructions?

I was using version 6.3.1 before upgrading to 6.5.0

I did overwrite the vars, cuz I keep forgetting to only upload the new ones, but I never think and upload them all. But I've learned my lesson cuz I'm tired of redoing all my settings <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Any other ideas?

OKay... just to clarify.

Are there two individual errors at work here?

You first noted that some users aren't getting emails.

Then you noted the odd output from the password retrieval function.

Are both of these individual problems, or are they related? I.e. users are getting mails, but they don't contain useful information?

I really don't know if they're related. Truthfully, I don't care about the odd output from the password script, as long as the real info is included, too.

I posted a poll on my BB asking if anyone was having email problems, and so far no. But... my moderator (who knows the system fairly well) reports he's not getting any (and I checked his profile and it looks right). Also - a new member never got his password, and I manually resent it to him, and he never got it, using two different email addresses. Those are two that I'm aware of, and there many be others who haven't yet come forward...

Maybe it's just a coincidence, especially if no one else here is having a problem...? But my moderator said everything was fine until the upgrade...
