I am noticing that the new version of UBB is creating more cache folders on our site. There are a total of three now in the non-cgi folder. Is this correct and should UBB be clearing these out?

Thanks,
Matt

A new cache directory is created when the UBB can not perform certain operations on the existing one, or when it plain can't FIND the existing one.

Your best bet would be to shut down the board, DELETE all the cache directories, then enter the control panel. That will create one new, valid cache directory.

Also, one recommendation from visiting your site. You should use ultimatebb.cgi when linking to the forums.

Why should I not be using the .php link for the forums. Does this cause a problem?

Thanks,
Matt

Yep. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Using the PHP link can bypass the new post indicators..

I changed the links on my site and removed all of the directories which was tough since I the cache is still used even when the board is turned off. Thanks for all of the input.
