I dont know if this has been discussed.

I login..go to my profile and change my password..it automatically logs me out. Then i have to log back in with my new password. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

Is there a way where i can make it so that they aren't logged out?

That occurs because of the way that UBB handles the cookies. I don't believe that you can correct that without causing problems with legitamate users to have login issues.

Unless CC has a rabbit up his sleeve to update the cookie once the password is changed....

Remember also that under some configurations, changing your email address automagically scrambles your password and must immediately log you out.

You can correct it, but it's UBB's designed behavior.

Logging out after *ONLY* changing your password is *NOT* designed behavior. You would have to change your email address as well.

ubb_profile.cgi:<pre>(snipped to stop page distortion)</pre>It means that either that, that, that, that or new password is different than current one, AND if new password is different than current one, prune the cookie.

You should prolly make the SECOND if, if new email isn't current one, and validate emails is on. (it doesn't matter whether you changed your pass or not - it changes it anyway)

This is now fixed (for 6.3.1)

A user is logged out after changing his or her profile only if the password, PDN, Recent Visitors prefs, or avatar prefs have been changed, AND the email has been changed, with email verification enabled.

A new cookie is set if any of the above have changed.
