I don't know but I think I found a possible bug in version 6.7.3.

I'm new and have just installed UBB on my server. However, this is what happens:

I am testing around with the board and have set the forum to "Show all topics". However when I post a test message in the forum, it is not displayed in the forums list. Only when I switch to "Show topics form lat 5 days", the topic appears in the list.

Another really strange thing is that when I switch to "Show topics form last 45 days", the forum style changes. It goes back to the standard style then although another style was associated with this forum.

This has to be a bug, right?

I have had the same problem with UBB Classic 6.7.2 and all you do is hit refresh and it will appear. in the topics lists.

Also, in the content islands for recent post in one or all forums you can create, the same thing happens. The new post does not show up until you hit refresh again. BTW, hitting the logo at the top of each forum directs you back to your board home accept not under the http://yourdomain/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi that goes to http://yourdomain/yournon-cgidirectoryname/ultimatebb.php/ I notice that if you refresh your board by hitting the logo that has link back to board home, it does not show up the lastest posts that are most current nor other board info such as recent visitors. You have to hit refresh on your browser. Its really weird and I have always thought it was just a bug that needs to yet be fixed!

No, the topic doesn't show up by clicking refresh.

Only if you change the setting in the drop-down-menu.

This really happens to be a bug I think. Let's see what Groupee says and how fast they will fix this.

I mean I bought UBB because it was one of the most expensive board software systems. I thought there might be no bugs in such an expensive software. Now this is quite disappointing.

I discovered even more bugs:

1) I inserted a background image.

2) The bg image shows up on the index page of the forum.

3) However, when I go to forum1, the page background does NOT show up. Neither do the topic list. Only when I switch the drop-down-menu to "show topics from last 100 days" for example, the topic list appears AND the background image appears.

4) When I enter the topic itself (where the message is), the page background does not show up at all and there seems to be nothing I can do to make it appear.

You've got to be kidding me. And I understand why you bought you UBB Classic. I made the same choice to buy mine because its is despite a little buggy now and then in these new builds, still the best one out there. BTW, do not install one of those stupid free message board softwares that install and run on mysql as too many of them like phpbb for example..eh I hate phpbb. Is more trouble than its worth. Trusts me stick to this software as it really is very customizable. You can acutally create different themes styes to use in each forum and even use different logos and images in each forum as well. I am surprised that I am just about the only one here that uses these features to the fullest they can be used. And, conversly to your point about such expensive software not having any bugs. Well, that is just not the case in any build brand name of software. They all have faults in some way or another. But, there are some far worse at bugs than UBB Classic. Say UBB threads for instance eh? Threads is slooooooooooowwwww at loads and transition page load times.

I am sure that Groupee can help you get this issue resolved! Someone should see this topic and look at your site I am sure of it. I have come to know their support system here to the best ever!

Well, I hope you're right.

I just opened a support ticket. Because there seem to be a LOT of bugs here in this version. This is really a bad start.

This is being handled in a ticket... and no, these aren't bugs. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

(There's some funkyness with the forum level cache not clearing right, for some reason.)
