We last installed the trial version almost 2 years ago. At the time we were not able to figure out how to set the board so only registered users were able to see the boards.

I see several boards using UBB where they have made it so you have to be registered to see the boards.

Hopefully this is now part of UBB and we will not have to do any customization. If it isn't and someone has done this, could you let us know?

We have committed to using UBB and just purchased a standard license. As soon as we get the download information we will be installing it. Maybe this was a feature that was not available on the trial download (2 years ago)? We decided not to mess with the trial download this time and will be working with the full version.

Any hints or tricks would be greatly appreciated. The last time it took several days to edit everything and get all the bugs worked out. Hopefully we will not have the same issues this time. As I remember there were some issues not completely documented before that we had to figure out (which we did send to UBB to update) and hopefully that was done. The computer we last installed UBB on crashed and that documentation was lost.

The trial version itself is stripped of several features and isn't the *latest* version; so it's understandable if you can't find a feature (as it doesn't exist in the trial).

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of .threads running on my production site, however I'm sure that the option exists to disable the site to non-members (as it seems to be a standard anymore, and as it's in the latest classic I'd immagine it shoudl be in threads 6)...

You'll have to wait till a threads user gets on and can confirm.

Basically, you just need to set the "Guest" group to "No Access" for each forum you don't want them to view. When that is done, they won't be able to see any of the forums until they login.

Thanks Rick, I'm glad to hear this is now a feature in UBB Threads.
