Well since this has become a commercial project, I figure some people might want to know a little more of what is being worked on to justify spending the money to by WWWThreads Pro or not. So, on a more regular basis I will post here as to exactly what is being worked on.

Speed is a real important factor and I have found a few ways that might help speed the program up and also make it a little easier on system resources. So this is what I am working on right now. It probably won't really make a noticeable difference, but in the long run it will be very important. Currently whenever the program needs to grab some info from a User's profile it grabs everything. The User's profile will get even bigger over time, and this will eventually start to slow things down a bit. So, the best way to optimize this is to only grab the portions that are needed by that individual function.

Like usual, I do most of my development on this forum, so user's can help me quickly spot trouble. So, if you have any problems that you were not having before, please let me know.

When this is finished I will post here on what I will be working on next.

The optimization for authentication has been finished. Previously, every time the program needed to find out anything about your preferences it had to load your entire profile. Now it only loads in those fields that it needs to know. This won't make a huge difference right now, but as the profiles grow it will be alot easier on memory and should help keep things quick.

Next, I will be working on an addtional picture profile for each user. This will be displayed in your profile. Along with this addition, will be another that will allow you to edit your profile so you don't have to see the pictures, because I realize some people will not want to have to wait for pictures to load in. Pictures will be limited to a 65x75 pixel area, or some size similar to that.

Ok, the picture portion is done. You can edit your profile to add a url to your picture. The picture needs to be 65x75. You can also change your profile if you do not want to see anyone's picture.

I am not exactly sure what is coming next. I think I will be working on real moderation, where posts will not be displayed until the admin or moderator approves them. Of course, this will be configurable so you do not have to have post approved, and it will behave as it is now. Or I might start on the Who's online function.

Got a 24 cancer run starting shortly, so I probably won't be around much, maybe checking in here and there. So I'll try to answer any questions when I can.

I had a few minutes before the Cancer run started so I put in the beginning of the Who's Online function. You should see it in the menu above. This will get a little better, you will be able to click on their name to see their profile when I get a chance to get that done. But this is a start anyway. It shows activity within the last 10 minutes.

Got more finished in the Who's Online script. You will now see, who has been active in the last 10 minutes, what time they were last active, their Status (admin, moderator, user), and the name of the last script they ran.

Full moderation is partially in place. You will notice next to the Moderated by portion on each board you will see a Post Approval On or Off. If Post Approval is On then an admin or that forum's moderator has to approve the posts before they can be seen. While I am testing, full moderation will be in place on the General Feedback board. If you notice any problems, please let me know.
