hey all, my shifts are still broken, i was thinking has any body made a script that extracted old messages and stored them as static html? if not thats an add for the wish list, why you ask? to keep the database thinner, and of course, to be able to have search engines spider all these files! or if you have a personal web spider... that might be usefull and put less bog on the database when somebody searches, imagine that you have a couple of thousand of meassges in total and somebody searches all the boards, that could affect the speed, not a lot but it could... now imagine that you have a lot more messages, then it could really get slow.. and use too many system resources maybe, well thats my last 2 cents for tha day

This talk of extracting flat pages bothers me. Isn't it taking us right back where we came from? I moved away from that kind of setup because it was so slow and I was told a database was the answer.
