Hi,

if a User choose "german" as language, a quote is stored with the title: "In Antwort auf". For example, see <A HREF="http://www.wwwthreads.com/perl/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=installation&Number=14049&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&vc=1#Post14049" target="_new">http://www.wwwthreads.com/perl/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=installation&Number=14049&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&vc=1#Post14049</A>.

I think it should depend on the reader's language how it appears when the message is being read.

In my case (where I want to have a mixture of english and german users and messages in my forums) I have decided to modify the language.pl files: In all languages, the quotes are titled with "Quote / Zitat:" - that's okay, but it isn't the best solution for this issue.

I would really love to see this depending to the reader's language.

Thanks,

Carsten

I've got rid of the "in reply to" bit altogether. It's totally redundent and misses the point that blockquoting can be used for many other things besides replies.

Eileen,

hmm, yes you're right. This "title" line is really redundant.

What can I do to remove it?

btw, just another thing regarding block quotes: In my case, it takes very large space, because there are empty lines above and below each line. Can I get rid of these blank lines?

Thanks for your help,

Carsten

Eileen,

thank you very much. But it doesn't work well when I edit a message with such quotes.

I'm then getting:

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="">quote:</font><hr /><font size="" face="">und noch ein test
</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="" face="">What's wrong?

Thanks,

Carsten

I don't see why it wouldn't work for you if the original line did. It uses the same syntax.

Came across this 'bug' too after some users drew my attention to it.
