In a past suggestion, I requested "on the fly" creation of boards. I gave this more of a thought, and had a simpler idea to achieve the purpose.
My request: the ability to have a link on a site where you can say "discuss this item". If a thread regarding this item already exists, the thread would get displayed. If not, it would get created.
Uses: I'm thinking along the lines of a site where items are listed, or users participate in auctions, or music selections are highlighed, anything like that. You'd be able to have a link on the website that says "discuss this item".
Right now, you could achieve this by pre-creating a thread for each item, and linking the "discuss this item" to a view of the corresponding thread (is anyone doing this?). But if there are many items to possibly discuss, it would be a pain in the neck to pre-create all these threads.
