According to my old SysOping experience on Compuserve, moving a thread across boards can get very confusing for the initial poster and users in general, because they don't find their post in the board they initially posted/read it in.
So this would end up with endless "my post disappeared!!!" posts... (if not "my post was censored!!!" :-))
So, as regards moving threads, I was wondering if others would find it useful to:
- Keep the thread title in its initial board with something to identify it as "moved" (special icon that could not be used for other posts; color). Kindalike as in vB where a moved thread has an arrow incon, and its title is preceded by "Moved: $Title".
- Ideally an option to notify the posters by mail (Initial poster/all posters in thread) upon moving the thread.
The former point would be enough by itself, the latter is kinda "would-be-nice" only...
So, what do other think?
