I was reading in the MySql reference manual about these table types and the manual had suggested moving towards MyISAM Tables since ISAM Tables would soon no longer be supported in MySQL. I am wondering if this will become an issue as MySQL 4.x becomes more common. My question is will Threads be moving towards a MYISAM solution in the near future? I have already experience some frustration when trying to integrate threads with other software products that are using MYISAM tables for user data (Threads is using ISAM as far as I can tell this Table type has not changed)

If the Table type were changed to MyIsam what sort of issues would this raise?

Any threads I've ever installed or worked on has been MyISAM by default.

I did encounter a forum which was not MyISAM and they had corruption problems and didn't like the command to repair the tables. I changed them to MyISAM.

So do all the tables normally get created as MyISAM? I have been using threads since about 1999 and have moved between a couple different Hosts. I am not sure what there default table creation Schema was in MySQL.

Yeah as far as my experience goes, any new install is MyISAM.

ok I changed those table types using phpmyadmin and it seems to have worked just find without any errors. I am hoping that some of the structure of the tables has not been corrupted since I have been using these tables in there current state for over a year without any apparent errors. I think I may install a test copy of Threads on my test site and check for any differences between table structure.
