Hello, when getting to the following installation instructions, I am having problems. Instructions are: "Check Perl path for these three files: ultimatebb.cgi, cp.cgi, and ubb_upgrade.cgi."

Here are my links:

http://stonesplace.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

(two links removed - now working)

Can someone please check this out and let me know what I need to do to get these to work? I can get the hello scripts to work.

The following is information from the script help page on the host providing me with web space: What are some common settings/paths for my CGI scripts?
Most Perl cgi scripts will work on Netfirms servers. For your scripts to work properly, you may need to change some paths or settings within the script to the following:

Perl 5 Location
#!/usr/bin/perl

Sendmail Location
/usr/lib/sendmail

CGI Url http://domain.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/file.cgi

Your full or absolute root path is:
$ENV{'DOCUMENT_ROOT'}

Remember to use double quotes around the path.
The full path to your www directory would be:
"$ENV{'DOCUMENT_ROOT'}/www"
The full path to your cgi-bin directory would be:
"$ENV{'DOCUMENT_ROOT'}/cgi-bin"

You can also find your document root by running the printenv program in your cgi-bin directory. Type: domain.netfirms.com/cgi/printenv on any web browser. It will display the absolute path and other variables needed for cgi scripts.

CGI File Permissions
Make sure all files and directories are set to chmod 755. The cgi-bin directory itself should be chmod 755.

Any suggestions?? <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Thanks!!

Your cp.cgi file seems to be working fine, just set up your paths and you should be ready to go.

Does that mean I should erase what is defaulting in the paths now and type something else in? Can you give me an example please? Thanks!!

I stand corrected:

The path to your graphics files should be:

/d01/sec/s42/a00042ip/www/ubb

See the posts below as you have not uploaded all of the files.

seems like you did everyone right but you /ubb folder, make sure the /ubb folder is in the same directory as the /cgi-bin and if its not called ubb you should make sure to put that in the absolute paths

A little more information. Your host has used variables to place the absolute path. That will work and is a good idea if they move sites around. The absolute paths picked by the program are almost correct, however, except as noted in my post above.

Your files do not seem to be loaded into the nonCGI (ubb) directory.

(Sorry for the multiple edits. I misread part of your first post <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> )
