When I unzip the ubbclassic trial, there are files in cgi-bin and variables that have common filenames. Your installation process has these files copied to the cgi-bin directory on my server. Following your install process, the files in cgi-bin are copied first, then later the files in variables. Because the files have duplicate names, those from variable write over those from cgi-bin. The files in variables are older than those in cgi-bin, and with slightly different byte sizes. So I'm overwriting newer files with older ones.
Since my previous post, my install is working fine. So this is now information only - but I think it is still confusing and probably unintended.
