I have installed the UBB 6.05, and created a template. After messing with it, I deleted it. Then, when I created a topic, I get this:
(Notice the space between "vars_style_1" and ".cgi"!)

After looking at my Apache error log, I see that that space between "vars_style_1" and ".cgi" is actually a ^M symbol. It's not two normal characters next to each other, but a single ASCII code. The HTML source code of the error page simply shows a linebreak. I seriously doubt it's an FTP transfer error, because I uploaded the single .zip file and unzipped it right on the server using the "unzip" utility.
Any idea what that could be and how I can get rid of that?

You can find this problem (until it's fixed) right here: http://www.gigacluster.net:8765/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
Both forums exhibit this behavior.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not an install issue. Gonna move this to the PIT.

Good diagnosis.

Simple cure.

You uploaded vars_style_sets.cgi in binary mode.

Download it in ASCII, upload it in ASCII, then enter your Styles association cpanel area - submit both pages.

That should do the trick.
