Bigger trouble.
I ftp'ed and downloaded my Memberslist.cgi. It's empty. 0 bytes. Nothing. Nada.

Now I can't get into the control panel (I'm denied access, no user by that name), so I can't even rebuild any member files.

What to do?

Log into the member area and download rebuildmems6.cgi. Install it and run it as per the instruction sheet included.

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!

Make sure you are not out of quota space. Also be sure that this server itself has not run out of disc space. If either is true do nothing until you have spoken to your hosting provider and made space. I cannot stress to you enough how important this is.

I checked, and have an unused 6 mb on my server.

I downloaded rebuildmems6.cgi and ran it from my browser and got an error message: "STOP!
Please close your UBB first in the control panel."

My board is off! And besides, I can't access my control panel anyway, since I can't log in. I get the message "No user by that name"

Help!

Jeff please fill out a support ticket and we'll take a look at it for you.

Make sure also that the server itself has room, not just your account.

I'm also having this problem. Everytime I rebuid the member stat files the memberslist.cgi gets flushed. Major glitch!

I'm having the same problem and I'm on version 6.05. I need to purchase the year of support so I can upgrade, as well. But... is there anything I can do to fix this problem now and upgrade over the weekend when things are a bit slower on the forums?

Okay, I've just renewed my yearly support subscription. I will be upgrading soon, but if someone could help me fix the problem (rebuild the member stat file) prior to the upgrade, that would be appreciated.

Okay...I'm backing up my Members directory. In the meantime, I uploaded and ran rebuildmems6.cgi and also got the following error:

STOP!
Please close your UBB first in the control panel.

I will close everything and reopen my browser and try again once the backup of the Members directory is complete. If it doesn't work, I'll open a support ticket. Any other advice would be appreciated.

I just had to publicly post and give recognition to the fact that, over the number of years that I've owned UBB, Charles has always been extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

After I opened my ticket this morning, Charles had the problem fixed in minutes after looking at the ticket (less than 1/2 hour from the time that I opened the ticket).
