I have version 6.6.0, running Apache and on Linux.

Some of my members are complaining about not being able to access their PMs. They seem to be getting one of two different error messages. Here they are...

CGIPath/Members/pm_topics/M/00007953.cgi did not return a true value at CGIPath/ubb_lib.cgi line 835

Can't find string terminator "!" anywhere before EOF at CGIPath/Members/pm_topics/V/00007814.cgi line 56

Any idea on how I can fix this? Thanks - Paul

Paul, have you by chance made any changes to the stock code?

I don't think so, because I don't know what a stock code is. I had someone else set the forums up for me. It was working fine until a week or so ago. The forums were shut down by my server because the site exceeded the allowable storage of 2.4 gig. When it was restarted, this is when the problem developed.

delete that file to get rid of the error. They you'll need to go to CGIPath/Members/pm_users/

find the file with the same number as the user who reported it. Then, delete the line that begins with

Code
"M-00007953" =>
and reupload the file

I have no idea how to do that. If I delete the registrations of those who are experiencing the problem and have them register again, would that solve it?

Doing that would have to be done via ftp.

CGIPath is the path to the folder that contains ultimatebb.cgi (usually cgi-bin)

Al, your instructions are only if his members files are located in his cgi-bin.

Stock code = code as coded by infopop.

If I figure out how to do that, will I have to do it with each member who is affected? It looks like between one and two hundred members out of twenty two hundred are having this problem.

You could just go the easy route and delete the pm folders in the members directory <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I reckon they'll have to live with their PMs messed up. I looked hard and couldn't find the
CGI thingy you talked about. Thanks for your effort to help - Paul

You need to go and delete /cgi-bin/Members/pm_topics/M/00007953.cgi, and /cgi-bin/Members/pm_topics/V/00007814.cgi. You should be able to navigate to those rather easily via FTP.

I found the cgi/bin/Members/pm_topics/M/, but in this folder all there is are these four items...
00000042
00000043
00000055
00000076

Any idea where 00007953 might reside?

If it isn't there, then it has been deleted already.

take a look at that thread and look into opening a support ticket.

Maybe they'll let you use the rebuilder
