Hey all,
All of the sudden we are having strange errors pop up with our forums. One is...
Tried to open zero-sized topic 001482 in forum 6. at CGIPath/ubb_lib_files.cgi line 777.
What is that all about? Help!

Delete that particular file (/noncgi/Forum##/topic#.cgi ex. /noncgi/Forum6/001482.cgi) and any other zero byte ######.cgi files, then rebuild your forum stat files.
Did you run out of space recently?

No, I don't think we've had any space problems but I am looking into it. As for deleting that file, should it be a 0 byte size file? That file is not 0 bytes, it is 1165. There are no files that are 0 bytes. Let me know, thanks!

What's a URL to your board?
The UBB will throw that error when it is trying to open a zero byte file.

Are you still there? We've had some other problems related to a troll on our site, and now one of our forums will not work. No one can post to it. Any thoughts? The other forums are still working.

The one thing Charles is going to say, upgrade your board.

I'll give the upgrade lecture after the board is fixed. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> As forum 6 is private, we'll need a username & password. That's probably best handled via a support ticket: https://www.ubbcentral.com/support/index.php?product=UBB.classic

We're not having any problems with that board, only the one labelled "Off-Topic Forum". No one can post in there. Everything else is working great!

Well, This probably partially related to the Word Game. You really shouldn't have over 500 replies in a topic.

OK, I removed that post but it was still listed when I clicked onto the off-topic forum. So, I tried to rebuild the stat files for that board. But, it doesn't seem to want to rebuild the files and now our boards are showing the message "Sorry, this message board is temporarily closed while we perform some routine maintenance."

Forgot to mention that when I try to rebuild the stat files for that forum the page loads for some time and then loads a blank page.

Your boards are still closed because the Stat rebuild didn't reopen them. You can reopen them via your Control Panel, however, this seems to be getting to the point where you might want to open the support ticket.

OK, I have opened a ticket. Thanks for letting me know why the boards were down (what a freaking idiot I am not noticing that).
