I am running ubb classic 6.5.0 on a unix box. it was installed by the ubb support team and has been working perfectly.

I have amended the setting to allow multiple forums to be on a content island.

I have 2 content islands, call them A and B

I use the CSS included file option for both CIs

A has latest posts from forums 1,2,3 displayed
B has latest posts from forums 4,5,6 displayed

If I move a topic from 6 to 3 then it should drop out of island B and be inserted in to island A

What actually happens is that it gets added to A but is still in B, but pointing to a "this topic doesn't exist page".

I have cleared the cache, rebuilt forums stats etc, EVEN DELETED THE CI AND REBUILT IT but it still shows the same. I suspect its a bug somewhere. Have trawled the source code but it is not obvious.

Any ideas, or better, fixes ?

Thanks

You'll need to rebuild the content island files.

I am a Web Development Contractor, I do not work for UBBCentral. I have provided free User to User Support since the beginning of these support forums.
Do you need Forum Install or Upgrade Services?

I have already :

"I have cleared the cache, rebuilt forums stats etc, EVEN DELETED THE CI AND REBUILT IT but it still shows the same."

Lots of times. deleted the CI, rebuilt it, then rebuilt, then did the forum stats, then rebuilt it etc.

Hello Kevtiller

This is a bug in 6.5. See this topic:

[FIXED - 6.6.0] Version 6.5: Moved topics in Content islands

.. and as for the fix (aside from upgrading) Charles says the following in that topic:
Quote
If others are experiencing this problem - a moved or deleted topic will NOT remove itself from a CI after repeated forum stats rebuilds and repeated CI rebuilds - you can safely delete the forumX_recentmeta.cgi file for that specific forum... you can find the file inside the NonCGI/cache-/search_index directory. After you delete the file, rebuild the forum stat files for that forum.

That worked PERFECTLY!

Thanks.

I tried using the clear cache function from the control panel previously - I assume it doesn't clear those files ? Will investigate further.

This sounds really good and would like to try it with my board. But I suck at this island stuff. Tried to contact Kev but no contact info.
