Hello I run UBB.classic™ 6.7.3 both on my old UNIX server and on the new Linux.

After server change and rebuilds I suffer from
non working links to any of the forums.
The links to member logins and all that works but I cannot open any topic or forums... Missing page comes up.

No thread or Board or FAQ page don't show
It says: "no input file specified"

Here is an example of a page that don't work, the thread is there as I can see it in the noncgi/Forum51 directory

I have closed the old forum

When it works I will point my DNS to the new server so I can use the

What could I have done wrong.
Have downloaded/uploaded the complete noncgi
and Members diretories and files.
The Vars to except from the vars_config.cgi
and yes I installed the complete UBB.classic™ 6.7.3 and thesetd it first on the new server.

Any thoughts what I could have missed . Couldn't see somewhere that the CGI-bin files should be uploaded...

Dumb question; are your paths correct in vars_config.cgi?

for me there not a single dumb question so shoot as much as you want to;)

1, Installed a new UBB.classic™ 6.7.3 on the new Linux server
2, Downloaded/uploaded the "vars" except vars_config.cgi
3, Downloaded/uploaded Members and noncgi
4, rebuilt & reindex (didn't) see any upgrade button as said in the manual.
Every seemed fine until I ttried to open a forum or a message or the FAQ. Rest was ok I as far as I could tell.

Then I realised that I had both old and new cashe in noncgi/ so I downloaded the vars_config.cgi and changed the cashe dir name to the old
q!cache_pw! => q!VLDCR6CB!,
even changed the q!Cookie_Number! => q!2452118.0459!,

Still same problem nothing happened.

Could the path's be wrong? I personally don't think so because I tested the board before the upload of the old board. first I did not upload anything else in the CGI-Bin except from the "vars files" then when it didn't work I uploaded the Modules dir (but I kept the original renamed on the server) I also uploaded the forumsBACKUP.cgi...

Any clues??? I'm in distress and it's not fun at all ;(

Try turning Spider Friendly URL's off and see if it functions...

According to a previous post (here) a user had experianced the same "No input file specified." error on a server with spider friendly URL's on.

it was set for

when it did not work

then I set it to - Spider-friendly URLs using Paths
- Normal URLs using Query Strings

and it started to work.

then I replaced
- Spider-friendly URLs using Paths
and enabled
Use Spider-friendly URL Compatibility Mode?
Enable this option if your server returns 404 errors when spider-friendly URLs are enabled.

and it started to with
- Spider-friendly URLs using Paths

I'm ever so grateful and I will continue to check if everything else is ok too.

Not a problem; glad I could help (been in a situation like this myself with my VPS).

Also, spider friendly compatability is only really good for shortening url's; I've not had any experiance with it being any good with allowing robots to crawl content; they tend to see formatting in the URL then run the other way :/...
