Just set up UBB7, and we're looking to customize a bit. First up, how do we adjust (and/or) disable the welcome message sent when a user registers?

Any text modifications can be done by editing the language files. For that particular string you'd be looking for the adduser.php language file. You can edit this through the control panel if you've set your language files to be writeable.

Ah, ok - the languages section is useful.

But can we turn off the welcome message entirely? We don't really have any use for it.

And while I'm at it, (where) can we:

Turn off the "Posting icon" feature?

Turn off the calendar, period?

Turn off the "Forum List" and FAQ links in the headers?

you could edit the header template and delete the calendarforum list/faq links links and pretend they never existed wink...

Fair enough, that does solve a few things. The trick there is figuring out just where to edit (and I see now, so thank you).
