Hi,

Is there any reason why all the forum names have now been replaced with numbers?

So
.../Board/Urchins2
has become
.../Board/29

Is there any easy way to alter these, apart from database diving?

The reason I ask is that we have a menu system that will see if a forum is contained within the URL - so before we could display a certain menu if 'Urchins2' was in the URL. Now we have an issue as '2' is in 2,29,32 etc. They are no longer unique.

I am sure the numbers simplify matters, but it isn't so good for our site frown

Looks like I have another rethink - at least this is one benefit to run a test smile

The main reason was database design. Having a varchar field for the main relational key on all the tables was a long running joke here. It was one of those things that was on the table to get done way back when but couldn't be redone until the whole db was redesigned.

Not all speed increases help everyone frown

This blows my entire menu system out of the water. I now need a rethink on that particular forum.
