Well, I post a topic (event) and assign it to the calendar. Like: post in this topic if you want to join this and this event.
The topic is posted and neatly displayed in the calendar. Now some people reply and suddenly the event has disappeared from the calendar.
First I thought the issue was caused by the original posters of the topic: they maintain a list with participants in the first posting of the thread, regularly editing it. I thought they forgot to re-tick the calendar box during the re-post. However, I just checked and now an event has disappeared from the calendar after someone replied to it. The first posting in said thread was not edited by the topic starter since the last time I re-added said event to the calendar.
I.e. apparently, postings disappear from the calendar after people reply to it.

You may still have my username and password from yesterday. In that case, you can see said postings on our so-called Events Forum (members only).

The behaviour seems not consistent... it sometimes happens, sometimes not.

The only way I can duplicate this so far is by editing the original topic. There is definitely a problem where it doesn't have the calendar entry filled in when editing. So, if the original post is edited and the user doesn't reset the data it does disappear. The fix will be a bit complex for this but I'll get it working for 7.0.1.
Other than that, so far I can't duplicate it just by replying. I've looked in the code and on a reply the calendar table isn't touched at all.

Thank you very much for looking into this Rick.
It must have been a strange issue with the cache then. The only explanation I can think of is that for some reason, the forum reverted to an older version of the cache again (one without the entry, because the topic starter had forgotten to re-tick the calendar option when editing the first posting) after it had displayed a newer version (one with the entry, after said posting had been corrected by me).
Would that be possible?

It's hard to say, that could be it. I was able to make the changes so when editing a post the calendar event data would already be filled in so it won't be accidentaly lost. A bit involved so I won't be able to post it, but it's fixed for 7.0.1.
