As my entry page for the boards renders, php is outputing the string: "here!" which remains visible on the page.
Is this because there is no community intro as called from cfrm.inc.php?
echo "here!";
// Are we showing the community Intro?
Can I change this to remove the string?

That definitely looks like my trademark. Any time I'm debugging I normally do that exact string, however I just looked in the release files and don't see that. Do you have the latest version or is this an earlier beta?
In anycase, yes you can definitely remove that line.

I have the latest version, but you were helping me with the install and maybe that's how it snuck in.
