Shout boxes can be somewhat risque, to that end, some sites might like them to exist but not be viewable to those not logged in. Just a thought

Most of the scripts can be set to member/mod/admin only by adjusting the script file: "regonly" => 0,
"admin_only" => 0,
"admin_or_mod" => 0,
I believe the script file for the shoutbox is shoutit.inc.php; I've not tested it to see the behavior for setting it to regonly though...

The shoutbox here doesn't appear if your are logged out - well it appears, but it is blank. ( http://ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/ubb/postlist/Board/2/page/1) Maybe it would be better to be hidden to people not logged in - as in it's present state looks like a failure has occured.
