Hi, new here and looking for a little advice.

Using UBB.treads 6.5 and my members are complaining about trouble and getting a warning saying "You cannot make another search at this time" when they are searching or just surfing around the board.

They can be logged in or out. Doesn't matter. None of the moderators or administratiors are having this problem just the regular users.

Any ideas?

What do you have set for time between searches under 'Feature Settings / Search Engine' in your control panel.

60 seconds. So that's probably my problem.

What is the recommended time?

Think of the setting as a means for halting abuse (afterall, do you want someone preforming a ton of searches which will access your db again and again without any wait inbetween?). Just set the setting to something you WANT... as in, if you want there to be a 5 second wait inbetween searches, type in 5. I'd recommend 20-30 at minimum... 20 seconds isn't all that long to wait afterall..

It is also worth making sure the user knows the time - I know here it says 'try again in a few minutes' - which is not true, but wouldn't help a user who is desperate for an answer to their question on your forum and is good enough not to ask a daft question, without searching.
