I want my forum / forum posts to show up in search engines. At present, the forums home page shows up when I conduct relevant searches in google. However, individual threads / posts do not show up in google search results. Anyone know what is going on? Thanks, Bryan

You probably don't allow crawling of your site.

.httacess maybe or other methods of preventing non specific requests of the site.

Make sure you're running SE Friendly URL's, additionally you'll have to await SE spiders to crawl your content.

If you haven't done so already, be sure to validate your domains and create sitemaps and upload them to Google and Yahoo (Yahoo can now parse Google's xml sitemaps, so you only need the one). Within 1-4 weeks your forums should be indexed.

Search Engine Friendly URLs aren't necessary to have your forums crawled, although it may make it easier. It's not recommended on shared hosting. You can see how many pages are indexed by using site:YOURDOMAINNAME as the url -- I have 1000s of pages indexed without using SEF URLs.

You know, I still don't have any sitemaps for my site lol... I've been looking into them lately though wink...

And I'd highly object to saying SE friendly url's aren't recommended on webhosts, i've used it at tons of them without any issues (well the only issue i've ever had was that they not work, but that was only because accept path info wasn't on), and they are a great help as url's don't break spider indexing.
