I have changed the background of all the tables.
I am having trouble getting rid of some whitish background that is still behind some text. For example in the quick reply table the text "HTML is disabled UBBCode is enabled Add Signature" is showing up with the old background color. Also if I go into "My Preferences Pages" all the text on top of the drop-downs is showing with the old background color.

I am having trouble localizing what to change in the styles and how to make it with no background decoration.

background: transparent;

is the code you'd want for that. Try looking in the 'Form Properties' section of your styles file.
