Hmmm... you're right. Trying to embed ani-applause.gif (even though it shows fine in the smilie list) just shows up as :ani-applause: in the post while aniapplause.gif works fine. Sorry I have no solution, but wanted to clarify your question for others who may be able to help.

iCh könnte nun sagen,
der Smilie wird nur entweder nur in Graemlin Images "default" oder in "default_dark" abgespeichert,
je nach Style.
Wird das Style nun in "dark" angezeigt fehlen die Smilies oder andersherum.
Sorry ich kann dieses nicht in Englisch rüberbringen !

What is curious to me is that both images show up fine as Quick Graemlins, it's just that one doesn't show up using the smilie code.
Can you post a screen shot of Control Panel » Images & Icons » Graemlins so we can see?

Nettomo, damit ich dir folgen kann: du meinst, das graemlins mit einem " - " im Namen nicht funktionieren, oder meinst du ein anderes Problem?

Yes, I hope he will post a screenshot soon. I guess he have trouble when adding a graemlin that contains a - in the filename, but not sure. I wait for feedback whats the exact problem is.

Ein Test, den ich sehen möchte, ist, ob umbenennend :ani-applause: :applause2: Arbeiten o.k. oder nicht...
(One test I would like to see is whether renaming :ani-applause: to :applause2: works okay or not)
ARGH! I was trying this test on my own BB and the server went down just afterwards - but my initial test results were neither worked! I'll post more after the server comes back up. :/

O.K., habe ich bestätigt, daß es eine Wanze gibt, die graemlins an oben zeigen verhindert, wenn es einen Schlag (-) in der UBB Codeabkürzung gibt.
Okay, I have confirmed that there is a bug preventing graemlins from showing up if there's a dash (-) in its UBBCode shortcut.

die Smilies funktionieren.
now I deleted all ( - ) hyphens, which Smilies function.
Dabei habe ich noch einen Bug gefunden:
I found still another Bug:
Ein Smilie der über die Administration gelöscht wird,
wird nicht vom Webspace gelöscht.
A Smilie over the administration is deleted, not by the Web space is deleted.

Ja fand ich daß heraus, auch - das Löschen eines graemlin über Admin CP löscht ihn nicht aus dem Bediener und hindert dich an ihn zurück addieren, wenn du zu wünschtest.
(Yes, I found that out, too - deleting a graemlin via Admin CP will not delete it from the server, preventing you from adding it back if you wanted to.)

well I found the cause and it bothers me. I see no reason why '-' isn't escaped when using preg_quote To fix: open ubbthreads.inc.php Find: (twice) $string = preg_quote($string,'/'); Replace with $string = preg_quote($string,'/-');

The problem with deleting the smilies is that would break old posts that still used that graemlin. The image is left in place so you don't have broken images in old posts that used the graemlin before it was deleted.

For now you'd need to use a different image name. Eventually, I'll probably get something in that will show the images that are in the graemlins directory but not attached to an actual graemlin, and then give an option to re-enable the graemlin.
