In this post I am referencing MattUK posting that he is using windows vista) I'm sorry to hear that you're on vista  ... What kinda memory/process usage do you see on it? all that new fangled UI goodness has to be horid with 768mb recommended memory... lol

Well you can dumb it down but it is still a resource hog for sure.
Ran it on wife's computer for about a week then she made me put XP back on it. Things are moved around too much as always each time MS updates the OS. She got tired of looking around for stuff.

Yes there actually is a ton of underlying code changes that are good, but to the average home user aside from losing support for XP or wanting the latest eye candy, then not much real reason to upgrade if you already have XP (IMHO)

yeh, I see ya there, if it's just eyecandy I could care less... though it kinda angers me that some coding groups/companies are focusing on vista only... The latest symantec antivirus is vista only...

Yeah it says that but I seriously doubt it will care. I have it for Corporate 10.2 but have not installed / tried it yet.
Well, like it or not sooner or later you'll be forced to move to Vista if you want to be on a Windows box. It's been that way for ever. Sooner or later everyone quits making updates and drivers for the older version so you have to move forward or lose out.

I tried it on my XP (well, Kelly's XP) and it didn't work right, I ended up having to roll down a version :/
I think M$ charges way too much for the "upgrade" versions though... It's rediculous... I own like 5 copies of XP home, yet upgrading to vista is still goinna cost an arm and a leg lol...
I think I'm going to start pushing Linux/Wine on people as a windows alternative again lol

I completely understand that, but it's hard to justify purchasing a new upgrade to their software for so darned much lol... I have software I use a hell of a lot more, that costs more to buy, whos upgrades are only like $100

Well already off topic so I won't press it, but I'm sure you understand but are frustrated. I too don't care for the high price but I can understand how it gets there. I'd love to have a copy of AutoCAD but at $4,000 I'm probably never going to have a copy.
