We've just upgraded to beta 4 of version 7.1. I'll be releasing this to the private testers in just a bit and if all goes well, we should have this in the Members Area in a few days. Discuss Here

If I ask REALLY nicely Rick, could you sneak the amendment to the stylesheet so that you can have main body style for new posts as well.. rather than waiting for 7.2

Are we gonna get an updated changelog, or would that take too much time?

Darn... mousing over the shortened post titles to show the complete title didn't make it in yet...

I made a post yesterday in the changelog to explain the lack of changelog updates As for anything new getting in, once we're this far into beta it's completely feature frozen, otherwise we have to extend the beta even longer since the new stuff would need to be tested.

I made a post yesterday in the changelog to explain the lack of changelog updates Yeah, but.... it's unclear whether you planned to post a list or not for the past month. I suppose that'd be too difficult at this point. Only asking because otherwise we wouldn't know where to look for bugs.

I was going to try and backtrack and figure out what I've actually fixed by just looking for those without the [FIXED] tag, but then realized I'd end up spending a lot of time instead of actually making progress. Once you fall behind on that, it's a major pain to backtrack. So, for the rest of 7.1, we'll just be going off of what's tagged as [FIXED] or not. Once I start work on 7.2...or 7.1.1 , then I'll pick back up on it again and make sure I keep up to date

I was once anxious for both 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 so I could upgrade, however, I ran into unexpected server-type problems that held me off from doing the upgrade.
When the 7.1 beta 3 and now beta 4 came along, and I saw how close we were to it, I decided to hold off any upgrades until 7.1 is ready for us to upgrade to.
I assume I can upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1 safely?

Yes, you'll be able to upgrade directly from 7.0 to 7.1, Daryl.

How important is doing a back-up prior to doing the upgrade?
In other words, what are the chances that I will even need the back-up?

In other words, what are the chances that I will even need the back-up? It doesn't really matter what the chances are. If the chances are 1 in a 100 or 1 in 1000, you still don't want to be that 1 failure when backing up prior to upgrading is so easy. Beware Murpy's Law.
