I just did on my test site with 7.1b4 and they inputted correctly. I inputted the im service as my im name to make sure they match and they do.

This was an early bug, and shouldn't be in 7.1 (as you can test that yourself here)

Humm, the odd thing is, on the private beta site it's bonkers...
I tried entering in genaric entries to signify which is which on the edit profile, but when i re-enter the edit page they're all off... and that's b4 also lol
