Merged a forum with about 5,000 topics with another with about 20,000 topics into one forum with 25,000 topics (way too many I know...but on dedicated server performance is still ok) Anyhoo, now the search won't find posts that were previously on the smaller forum. I rebuilt the forum metadata but that didn't help. Any ideas how to fix it ? www.practicalmachinist.com

I would think you would need to have MySQL rebuild the indexes but I know search was different in older versions.
Rick or one of the other Mods can say for sure

He's using classic, it didn't use mysql It sounds like you need to re-build your search indexes, I'd recommend one index for each forum since they're larger now. Let me know how it goes

D'oh ! I saw where the software said "rebuild the search index" but I didn't see the tab for that and just assumed they meant the metadata.....but now I see the search index is a seperate tab. Thanks !

lol not a problem; some tabs can at times be difficult to notice, at least on the larger "2 tabs" pages (vs the 5+ tabs on some others)
