I know the top left shows FORUM CLOSED but I think it would be nice to have a more prominent BIGGER FONT - CENTERED on top of the forum that says FORUM CLOSED
By closing the forum it would place it there regardless of what CSS layout style is being used.

You can use HTML in the "Closed Message" field -- a little red will get the message across...

Yes I know I can, but there appears to be MANY people out there running a board that don't know how and having a quick automated method would be a nice improvement I think.

Because again you're missing the point. The point is NOT for ME to modify the application. The point is to improve it for everyone and make it easier for those less technically inclined.
Sorry guys but your history with the program is showing and you sometimes overlook the fact that you have so much experience and not everyone else does.

Is it really that hard to see a forum closed message? and basic html is in no way an advanced technique... nothing a simple google search couldn't help with...

Giz I thought you said you've helped people setup a board before. It sure doesn't sound like it that or you've been one lucky son of a gun. Most people that ask for assistance want you to do the whole thing for them and don't know anything about it they just have an idea and want to have either a Web page or BBS to run with.
Hey it's just a suggestion no one has to change a thing if they don't want to.

Lol I do setup forums for people, in fact i offer just about any service one could want; what I'm saying is that it isn't a difficult thing to use the template editor to add html code; in fact we've freely answered many questions here on how to do just that (utilize the language editor to change default strings).
I think that a good alternative would be to assign a "notice" css class, and assign it to any warnings, then have the default be say 16pt or something, then everyone can have their cake.

Sorry guys but your history with the program is showing and you sometimes overlook the fact that you have so much experience and not everyone else does. I don't think people are missing the point - and we all come from different backrounds - I am threads and Gizmo's ubb.C for example - the point is that the majority of threads owners will never come to this forum. They are happy to just run the stock version and never alter a single item.. Heck, half of them never upgrade... Then there are those that like to dabble. The simple truth is that you really need to know a bit of html in order to run a site - and I think this comes into that category. We can make most things look pretty - but at this stage in the softwares development the effort has to be in adding features. I am all for making signs clearer, please do not get me wrong, but there has to be a time when admins need to think for themselves a little bit and tinker with a bit of html.

amen :claps hands: and if users with disabilites have no issues with it, I don't see how a user without such limitations is getting so uppidy about it...

indeed - please do not think I was having a go at the OP, I was not - it is just that by constantly tweaking we are in danger of slowing the development of software. However please keep the suggestions coming - and if anyone needs to know how to alter bits and cannot find it via a search - just ask - that is what us unpaid mods are for
