I am researching a host site that offers MySQL Database (100 MB) with the number 50 in the next column.

Here is the link to that site:

http://order.1and1.com/xml/order/HostingBus;jsessionid=688C27BFB480CF20914F70D7A400D8AD.TC60b?__frame=_top&__lf=Static

Can anybody tell me if this is a good site to host UBBT?

What it is this...

Max Size = 100mb (or we will shut it down for pulling the resorces)

And the (50) means you have have upto 50 individual databases
set up.

My advice - If you have plans to expand - Dont uses them,
there great for "I dont know how".

You have been warned,
I had to leave them for that exact reason - v7.0.0 import from classic = 135mb.

Although 7.1 import would work out smaller,
1&1 do not leave you any room to expand.

If you upgraded to a Dedicated Server just look at the
prices of a Managed, Server its crazy.

End if rant frown

Not that I want anyone else joining on my provider that might slow me down - I've had good luck with this company now for a few years and they don't give you headaches like that site.

As with any shared provider though once your site gets too big you will need another solution than shared. For most of us though a shared plan with a decent provider is good enough.

1and1 is a waste of time, they're a foolish webhost; we have a long discussion at UBBDev about their lack of services and support.

I've been setting up my clients through www.WebIntellects.com, they have great services and fast/sufficient support and offer any hosting services you could want (Shared Hosting, VPS, Dedicated and all on either Linux or Windows)

I am a Web Development Contractor, I do not work for UBBCentral. I have provided free User to User Support since the beginning of these support forums.
