I am getting an error anytime I try to update the settings in the General area of Display Options.
This error states "HTTP 406 Not Acceptable"
What gives? Any ideas? I know that the permissions required by the ubb software are met as I have changed all of them and everything passes. Also, the board seems to be functioning for now.

The only time I've seen anyone get the 406 error is if they have the mod_security module enabled, and it's catching some oddball phrase that it doesn't like. If you are on a hosted server, you should ask if they are running this.

Ding ding ding, mod_security has another victim...
Your error log should hold the phraise that pays, if it's something critical to running your forum, you'll need to provide the string to your webhost; if it's something random that you'll never see again; you can usually ignore it.
mod_security is a module which identifies "strings" at a set list of known exploits, most of the time it goes overboard and flags legit scripts as mallicious; keyword targeting at its worse.

'eh I worked for a webhost for several years, in the later timeframe they instituted mod_security so I got to have fun troubleshooting issues until i found out the woes involved, then it became easy to troubleshoot most issues lol
