I'm wanting to create just a generic page using .threads header, footer, wrappers, stylesheets, etc.... But, I'm having trouble putting it all together.
I haven't done this in a couple years, but need to do it for a client now. Is there documentation on the sample script?
I found josh's mod to use it outside of the .threads directory, which is important.
Thanks, P

If you're just wanting to wrap content, theres an addon at UBBDev which can do this; using the sample pages is really only for if you're planning on adding features to the forum itself...

Gizmo, essentially I want to have a page with the header and footer, with a post island in the center. Which addon at ubbdev wraps content?

You said you looked at it, it's Josh's addon to use the threads wrapper outside of the threads directory. clickly clickyIMHO, making your pages go through the forum as what mods would, would be a complete waste of time if they're not going to utilize board-centric coding (such as language files, sql routines, etc); using the forum wrappers for pages however would make more sense (using the thread above).

All I really want to do is have a page called news.php that has the same header and footer as the board, and displays a post island of the posts from a news forum. I don't want any of the portal boxes or anything else on the page....

The only way to disable the portal boxes, at this time, is to not use the portal; which you can disable completley in the CP; but this would be a global setting.
If you just want to use the header and the footer you should consider just entering your own header and footer and attempt to replicate the look of the standard design.
