We need the ability to forward a private message to a team member etc. Right now you have to copy paste the message into a new message and the message trail is lost.

Add the ability to foward private messages to one are many people. Commerce sites need this functionality.

Interesting idea; I still am pushing for inviting users to a pm after it has begun

It's no longer PRIVATE if it's forwardable.

aye but certain users should have the ability you run a commerce site you need these types of controls..

Rick have you thought about this at all ? It's an honest to goodness great feature for anyone trying to run a site where multiple responsibilities are in play.

You know, I think I would like to see this added...

You can PM yourself, with no extra users, and basically have a notepad...

Now being able to forward the PM elsewhere would create the ability to save preformatted messges to mail to users...

Though my sugguestion would be that for simply formatting, that it only forward that message (and no child or parent messages) and not retain the users which recieved the message...

I am not so worried about the privacy of a PM.. If your running a business that is supported by the forums you need to be able to forward messages, questions and sales inquiries to other team members with all of the orginal message and user information.

I can see 2 options for this ability. One as Gizmo describes and a full forward feature that allows you to type a message ahead of the PM like when you forward any email. If you limited it to just Administrators and certain Moderators then there are no issues around security etc. You might have the option to turn this feature off all together.

It honestly would take the private message system to where it needs to be other then a private message board. You would gain so much in the way of corporate users without a doubt this way.

Adding a user to a PM chain is also another good idea so it turns into a group discussion instead of being limited.

Yeh, adding users to pm's is a large request in reguards to pm's..
