I finally have my Classic 6.7.3 board running on the same server as my Threads test board, and I have set up the Threads styles the way I want. So now I need to delete all the users and threads I first imported back in January from the Threads board, and then Re-import the latest Classic data and (I hope) not disturb the style settings.
Is there a list of steps somewhere that I can follow to do that?

I'd do: 1. Export your styles. 2. Drop ALL of your database files for that database. 3. Run "createtables.php" from your install directory. 4. Run the importer. 5. After the import, login to your admin user and import your styles you exported from step 1.

He's right. Dropping the database and starting it new will restart all of the autoincrement fields. It's just easier to drop and make new instead of groing through and resetting counters.
Just be sure to export your styles first!

Stupid question: How can I 'export styles'?
I'm planning to do it right after I have all my pages done to the new 7.1, but my changes are things like 'headers', 'footers', 'link to home', etc. I'm not changing .tmpl. Do still have to export styles?

Stupid question: How can I 'export styles'? Control Panel / Display Options / Styles / [Export w Wrapper] (link to the right of your style name)

Styles are stored in the database, if you plan to delete the database to re-import you MUST export them so that you can re-import them into your install.
Items like the header, footer, and custom islands are stored in flat files, so they don't need to be exported (as they're not stored in the database.
You can export styles from the styles editor page, there is an export option; if you have not made any customizations to the table wrappers you should export without wrapper (as multiple style exports chosen with export with wrapper you'll end up wiht a ton of the same wrapper).
