Though it's probably quite a bit of work, please do consider putting this feature back on your agenda. It would be a selling point. In my case, I need an off-the-shelf solution (minimal customisation) for my business unit. UBB.threads is very attractive but for this one missing feature.
The (rather large) organization I work for has the typical "single signon" mantra going.
