I upgraded from 7.0.2 to 7.1.1 and it completed without any errors. The forums come up and look good, but when I click on any thread, I get the following error:
Script: C:\Sites\www.example.com\ubbthreads\scripts\showflat.inc.php Line#: 310 SQL Error: Unknown column 'FORUM_GUEST_CAPTCHA' in 'field list' SQL Error #: 1054
I checked the ubbt_forum table and did not see the FORUM_GUEST_CAPTCHA field.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Did you run through the install/upgrade.php script?

Yes, the script completed. It took more than 10 hours. When I checked on it after a couple of hours, the browser timed out so I had to refresh the browser to see that it was still running. When I refreshed it after 16 hours, it showed the next step and confirmed that it was complete.
Perhaps I should start from scratch and try it again, this time not clicking the refresh until I see that database activity is done?
BTW: I am doing this upgrade on a test server, Win2003, not my choice.
Thanks

I can't really see why an upgrade from UBB.T7.0 to UBB.T7.1 would take more than 5 minutes let alone 16 hours...

They have about 9 years of posts and threads. They don't prune.
The SQL backup file is over 2.4 Gigs. That alone takes about 10 hours to restore with MySQL 5, Dual XEON 2.8GHz 2Gigs Ram, 10K RPM SCSI.

Assumeing that the install script used altertable-7.0.0b5.php, I don't see anything for FORUM_GUEST_CAPTCHA. I do see it in the altertable-7.1.php. I imagine it would work if I upgraded to 7.1 first and then to 7.1.1.
Since this is such a large database, I would try a guery to add the field, but I wanted to check with the experts first.
More information if this is important: Our 7.0.2 install was also an import from Classic 6.7.2, so it has an import_map table.
Thanks

It sounds like it maybe skipped a step, possibly during the timeout. Basically what it is supposed to do is run through each of the altertables needed to get you from your old version to the new one. In your case it should have only run the 7.1 altertable.
It's definitely odd that it took that long as there aren't really any heavy database queries in the upgrade. What I'd do is during the upgrade, run the "mysqladmin processlist" command from time to time, this will tell you exactly what it's doing.

Thanks Rick.
I created the field and it worked. I will go through the altertable-7.1 script to verify all of the other changes were made. If this happens when I upgrade the production machine, at least I will know how to fix it.
Thanks!
